Simple DIY Experiments on Star Formation for Physics Teaching and at Home

Presented at the in-service teacher training day "Sternentwicklung verstehen und im Unterricht thematisieren" ("Understanding and teaching stellar evolution") at the Institute of Physics Education, University of Cologne. The lecture introduced the syringe-based adiabatic compression experiment as a simple, low-cost analogy for the physics of stellar collapse and presented both the theoretical background and practical classroom implementation guidance.
