Can the 'Stars and the Universe' Content Area in the G9 Physics Curriculum for NRW Be Taught with Experiments? A Critical Review of School Textbooks

The G9 physics curriculum in North Rhine-Westphalia includes an obligatory unit on "Stars and the Universe". This article analyses current approved school textbooks to assess whether the unit is supported by adequate experimental content and whether the experiments offered are feasible in a standard school setting. The analysis finds significant gaps and proposes research-informed improvements, drawing on the astro-lab.app experiment collection as a practical supplement.
